Love is the heart of every wedding, and at WONÁ Concept, we are honored to be a part of our brides' unforgettable journeys. This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate the magic of romance by sharing the beautiful love stories of real WONÁ brides who found their dream dresses and their forever love.
Miglena: A Love That Stands the Test of Time
Miglena and her husband, Todor, met in high school and have been inseparable ever since. Their love has been a journey of dreams, support, and deep connection.
"Getting married by the sea has always been our dream. So, on July 28, 2024, overlooking the Black Sea, we made a promise of love and loyalty, not just in front of our closest people, but to the sky, the sea, and the earth—making it feel like something bigger than just us."
When it came to choosing her wedding dress, Miglena always envisioned herself in a gown that was elegant, timeless, yet daring.
"Demia was the third dress I tried on, and it was love at first sight. My girlfriends were all in awe, absolutely sure this was the one for me. After learning the meaning behind the name of the dress, it felt like a sign from the universe. I had to marry my other half in it. It felt so authentic and so ‘me.’"
Cassidy: A Love Written in the Stars
Cassidy and her husband, Tiger, met unexpectedly at her parents' house.
"He walked in already quite tipsy, and hearing that he was quite the ladies' man, I didn’t really pay much attention to him. But when he spoke to me, we just connected instantly. I accidentally spilled red wine on him, then ran to my best friend, saying, 'I messed it up, I really enjoy talking to this guy.' That night, he said he wanted to take me on a date. I thought he was just sweet-talking me, but two days later, he kept his word. We talked for hours, and it felt like we had known each other forever."
Their love faced a major test when Cassidy had to move abroad for her studies. She struggled with the decision to stay or go.
"Then, I picked up a fortune cookie—something I never do—and it read, 'The heart is wiser than the intellect.' That was the sign I needed. A week and a half after leaving, I packed up my life and moved back home for love. Now, five years later, we are married, have five beautiful dogs, and the most incredible love I could ever imagine."
For Cassidy, Odette was just as destined as her love story.
"Wearing a WONÁ dress was an absolute privilege. It was the first dress I ever tried on, and after searching across the country, nothing compared. I would choose it again in a heartbeat."
Sarah: A Love Story with a New York Flair
Sarah, a media and advertising professional, and her husband, a corporate lawyer, met in high school—thanks to a Twitter mishap.
"He followed me, mistaking me for someone else. We quickly realized we didn’t know each other, but our conversations flowed naturally. I was a suburban cheerleader, and he was an inner-city student already halfway through his college degree. Our lives were so different, yet we were drawn to each other."
New York City became the backdrop of their love story, so when it came to finding the perfect wedding dress, Sarah wanted a gown that embodied classic New York elegance with a touch of modern flair.
"Lucia was the dress that brought me to WONÁ, and it was one of the first dresses I ever tried on. Even after months of trying other styles at different boutiques, I couldn’t get her out of my head. I knew I wanted to say yes to the dress, but make her my own."
With the help of a tailor who specializes in WONÁ gowns, Sarah customized her dress with pearl embellishments and a detachable belt.
"The moment I put it on, it felt like the dress I had always dreamed of. I always knew Lucia was the one from the start."
Alanis: A Love That Came Full Circle
Alanis and Connor met as children, bonding over being “the new kids” in school. As the years passed, life took them on different paths, but they always found their way back to each other—passing in the halls, exchanging smiles, and maintaining an unspoken connection.
Years later, Connor gathered the courage to reach out with a simple message: “Hey :P.” That small moment rekindled their friendship and eventually led to a love story that spanned a decade. After ten years together, Connor proposed in a romantic chapel in Drumoig, surrounded by their families. Alanis tearfully said yes, knowing their journey had come full circle.
On her wedding day, Alanis walked down the aisle in the exquisite Moore gown, a dress as timeless as their love story. The flowing silhouette and delicate details perfectly reflected the elegance and romance of their journey—a dress meant for a love that had been written in the stars.
